5 Self-Care Sunday Ideas to Get You Ready for a New Week

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Sunday should come with a pause button?" I mean, sometimes I just dread the feeling of a Sunday coming to an end. You know that feeling you get on a Sunday night... thinking about the week ahead full of alarm clocks, to-do lists, deadlines, zoom meetings, bills, masks, and whatever else life decides to throw at you?

The weeks can be grueling and that is why it is important to have those moments dedicated to taking care of yourself. Self care can mean many things depending on the person and the need. Self care can be a glass of tea, an honest conversation with a loved one, a much-needed massage, orrrrr my favorite- and that is one of those long af showers where you wash your hair, deep condition, shave, and exfoliate all in one! Now that last one hit different and if you know you know! Haha.

Well there just might be a way to slow down our Sunday evenings after all. To combat the Sunday Evening Blues, I've gotten in the routine of taking some time for myself on Sundays, to embrace those last moments of relaxation and get my mind and body ready for a new week.

Here is a list of 10 Self-Care Sunday Ideas to Get You Ready for a New Week:

1. Journal Your Thoughts

Journaling is an amazing way to catch up with yourself. Writing down your thoughts helps you to process and mentally organize the events happening in your life. Its also just a great way to record your feelings so that you can revisit them later.

2. Steam & Masque

Having the home-spa experience never gets old. Grab your favorite sheet mask or serum, like the AFOKOSKIN Dream Serum and a facial steamer and get ready to give your face some warm TLC. You're skin will thank you as you enter a new week!

3. Buy Yourself Some Flowers

Enough Said. Who doesn't love to walk into a room and see beautiful flowers?

4. Exfoliate & Moisturize

Like I said before, I love the feeling of freshly shaven, exfoliated, and moisturized legs hitting the sheets. The softness of the sheets at that moment is unmatched and the sleep is astounding. Give this simple self-care moment a try with AFOKOSKIN Coffee Body Scrub & Whipped Body Butter.

5. Laugh Out Loud

As they say, laughter is the best medicine. Take some time to have joy! Be silly, watch a funny movie, or laugh with your friend.

6. Catch Up with a Friend

Adulting really has a way of interfering with our social lives, doesn't it? Take a moment to reconnect with a friend that you've been missing before the weekend is over.

7. Have a Glass of Tea

Enjoy a glass of tea while you get lost in a book, listen to your favorite song, or spend some time with your journal. Pro Tip: Chamomile Tea before bed is great to help you get a good night's sleep.

8. Listen to an Inspiring Podcast

There are endless topics to get lost in, and sometimes a good podcast during a nice warm bath is exactly what you need to kick those Sunday evening blues.

9. Show Your Hair Some TLC

Whether you're shoveling loads of Deep Conditioner into your hair or trying out a cute protective-style for the week, you'll always thank yourself later for taking the time to show your hair some care.

10. Get Proper Sleep

If there's no other time that you set to catch up on lost-sleep, then do it before the weekend ends. If you're not rested on a Monday morning, then you're doing it wrong! Unless you're a new parent... in which case, ignore what I just said and get whatever sleep you can get!
